The Petersen Asphalt Research Conference welcomes presentations of current asphalt research results from fundamental and applied science studies. A projector will be available for presenters to use at the event.
Topics of Interest
Topics of interest broadly include the following:
Asphalt binder chemistry, rheology, evaluation, and performance
Alternative asphalt binders, additives, agents, and extenders
Asphalt mixture design, evaluation, and performance
Sustainability, Life Cycle Analysis (LCA), Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and related aspects of asphalt materials
Innovative Asphalt Modification (polymers, cross-linkers, antistrips, low-aging, etc.)
Gaps in current specifications and testing methods for unconventional/alternative materials
Upcycling/Recycling applications in asphalt materials

Submission Period
Thursday February 9 - Monday April 17, 2023
Options for presentation format: 1.Lectern/Poster 2.Poster Only
Abstract submitters will be asked for their preference. Please note that the PARC Committee will do its best to honor your preference as submitted but cannot guarantee your selection.
We'll let you know by Monday May 8, 2023 if your presentation is selected for the program and for what format (Lectern or poster). Please don't forget to register for the conference - submitting an abstract doesn't automatically register you.
Distribution
Your conference abstract will be included with the Petersen Asphalt Research Conference program. We don't publish presentations, but if you want your presentation distributed at the conference, provide copies to the registration staff, and they will assist with distribution.
Submitting an Abstract
Your abstract should be a maximum of 200 words and present a clear and concise statement of the objectives, methods, results, and conclusions of the research. Abstracts submitted may be considered for either oral or poster presentation.
